Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong – They Can’t Take Away From Me
Just a little something to bring it on down after the smorgasbord of bass we’ve been enjoying in the last few days, and one for all those with that special someone, or those special someones (big-up the polyamorous massive) in their lives.
A jazz (mag) standard delivered by two of the all time greats and a very sweet love song when the list of trivial and touching ways in which you wear your hat and sip your tea are all eventually trumped by the greater magnitude of the way you changed my life. Ella Fitzgerald kicks it off in a typically beautifully unaffected fashion, but the song really gets going for me when the gravelly tones of Louis kick in.
This is off a 3-cd compilation from Verve of the best of Louis and Ella.
BTW, does anyone have an mp3 of Diplo vs The Beatles that they fancy sharing?

Great song-actually chosen by myself and my wife as the first dance song at our wedding. :-)
This file seems to be corrupted by the way-might wanna upload it again.
Cheers,
Cubik
Thanks Cubik… I have changed the file so it should be OK now.
Great track, but I can't help thinking a bit of that John B bass would go in a treat about 3 minutes to accompany the horn solo :o)
The original is the best, but damn if I don't have a weakness for the mashup version from "Take the Lead."
