LSD = League of Spiritual Discovery?

This one’s a special treat for anyone who was wholly disappointed by the complete lack of hardcore anywhere in the top 25 birthday picks ;o)
It comes from 1992’s LSD EP on Moving Shadow, hence the pic of some 1992-era blotters – although the sleeve (somewhat cynically, perhaps) suggests that the LSD of the EP’s title stands for “League of Spiritual Discovery”.
The track consists almost entirely of sampled & looped drumbeats sparsely overlaid by a couple of samples of an airhorn and a guy saying
You are the people of chemistry, the people of physics, the people of music, the people of civilisation, the people of rhythm! There’s a fantastic breakdown in the middle with some sampled human beatboxing and a bit of girlie singing, and then we’re straight back to the beats.
Some weird synth stabs come in right towards the end of the track and for me they’re a mistake: they’re totally unnecessary and completely spoil the beats-only purity of the first 4/5 of the tune. It’s still an absolute corker though.

I think, not enitrely sure if I remember rightly, and I should probably google it before I write it down here, that the League For Spiritual Discovery was the name for the esoteric society of psychonauts created by Herman Hesse's rather good novel (at least I thought it was at the time I read it,from the critical perspective of a psychedelically-addled teen with aspirations of mystical insight) 'Journey to The East'.
I had forgotten all about those composite Bart Simpson sheets.. it was very prestigious to get your mitts on a whole one.
