I know folks on here are fans of both Amp Fiddler and Detroit-chum Carl Craig (apart from the Double K) so I’m whacking this up mainly out of interest for people to check out this collaboration. I acquired it only recently, and have been listening a few times over, and still not enormously thrilled. It’s more of a straight-forward remix then I would have expected from Carl Craig… he seems to be treating the material with more reverence than usual, and just gives it a very soulful, floor orientated working over rather than a customary, heavy handed stripping it down and fucking it up – I guess hence the fact its an edit rather than a remix. The 12” also comes with a Jazzanova remix.

I'm not against Carl Craig in principle, and must admit to really liking some of his stuff (although I certainly won't own to being "a fan"). It's just that he tends to be completely over-hyped and so I like to do a bit of devil's advocate from time to time to keep things in perspective.
And of course I just enjoy being contrary :o)
It's like the mobile phone thing: In truth I gave up caring quite a long time ago, but sometimes it seems people still expect a bit of a rant.
