Jstar – S’Biggerdan
Jstar is my new favourite thing. He is an underground London artiste who is “the years best pure party shizzle mash up dj bar none” according to some bloke from Dub Specialist. He has put out a number of in-demand 7”s of hip-hop vocals skillfully blended into a variety of reggae classics to maximum effect, creating some of the most solid, party-friendly tracks I’ve heard in quite some time. A quick squizz of his myspace page (which includes more tracks to download) shows that he will be playing in London on the 27th of August in London (isn’t that carnival weekend?) at Ginglik at the 7” only party put on by sometimes Dilate associates, the Size Doesn’t Matter crew.
For those of us who haven’t been finger on the pulse enough to snap up the Jstar 7”s, there are a series of “Most Wanteds” put out now and again that collect them on 12”s. This particular track is off Most Wanted 2.5 which is still available from Phonica. All killer, no filler… and they always sell out, so I’d advocate immediate consumer action.
There’s also a Jstar mix he did on Xfm’s Rinse that you can download here.

The No Diggity/Real Rock by the same was big a few years back and is a killer.
Yes, was my second choice to post but figured I go for something off the new 12 instead. The one I really want to get my grubby mitts on is his take on batty-boy anthem, "I'm coming out"
