Detroit Techno is Back In Joey Negro's Box [3]

This last track from the Back In The Box mix comes from UR’s World 2 World EP; we had Amazon, from the same EP, ages ago and it even made it into our 1st birthday top 5’s.

This is more absolutely sublime space-age techno from Mad Mike and the UR crew (sans Jeff Mills by this point). The tune grooves along with lovely bubbling acid squidge, twiddly uplifting synth stuff and snatches of choral vocal harmonies, all underpinned by a chunky bassline. A true classic for sure.

Such a great track this one. How did these guys do this incredible music during this era? When will someone invent something that changes the whole face of music like these techno guys did?

What a tune. Great post, Double K.
I've got a feeling that Mills had at least a partial hand in World to World. On that recent thing he did where he got a full orchestra to 'interpret' his music, they played Amazon – which at least implies that he wrote it.
