Definitely a big fan of this sort of sparse, early 80s RnB slow-jam, as sampled on Biggie’s Juicy, puts me in mind Hangin on a String, another big fave round these parts. It’s a great vocal performance from the exotically monikered Tawatha Agee, although I do still snigger at the mention of her ‘chocolate star.’
OK, something possibly even more exciting I have to share… I posted this tune way, way back.. it’s a Horse Meat Disco fave, and I know that Tommy Squeaker, and DC-lurker Joel are both big fans.. Someone on the DJ History page has unearthed a very exciting video clip to Dennis Parker’s ode to sexual anomie, Like An Eagle. A wonderful outfit, great teeth and check out those moves. It's a treat to see the great Parker in action. I am a particular fan of the pointing posing during the "Looking at you looking at you looking at you" bit. Pure class.
I can quite see you appropriating said moves for your own Tom.. never can have too much orchestrated pointing on the dance floor.
Another bit of Parker trivia I found out today… his porn alias, Wade Nichols (and we're not saying here that his first pet was called Wade) was used by Todd "the edit God" Terje for his contribution to the Mindless Boogie series… he did a great number on a KC and the Sunshine Band track that I might have to post.
