Janet Jackson – Together Again (DJ Premier remix)

Just when you thought it was going to a ceaseless string of disco edits.. the truth is there’s a few more of those to come, but I figured I’d throw this one in now to keep us on our toes.

Props are due to P Rice for pointing this one out to me, who did so safe in the knowledge of my pop proclivities. The considerable studio presence of DJ Premier transforms a pleasant, but somewhat forgettable Janet Jackson pop ditty into a lush, rolling hip-hop symphony. I know there are lots of folks out there who might find the vocals a bit much. This is me doing the three-fingered whatever wave at you right now.

This Janet related post is also the harbinger of another Janet-related one that I’m saving for the end which is quite different, quite exciting and quite maintenant. The picture btw, is from when the fresh-faced Janet was in Fame the TV series, I think round about the time she was married to Chico DeBarge.
