I Roam Around Around Around... (Juan week IV)

The retrograde motion of Mars in 2005

Model 500Wanderer/Info World

This track is called Info World on the BioRhythm2 LP, but Wanderer on the Ocean To Ocean EP (on Transmat) where it first appeared, so take your pick; for the sake of the write-up I’m calling it Wanderer:

This cover version of the Dion (and Quo) classic “The Wanderer” is unconventional to say the least: Magic Juan dispenses with many of the traditional elements of the song (the lyrics, the structure, the melody, etc, etc.) and instead comes with some absolutely amazing mellow, timelessly brilliant bleepy techno.

...and when she asks me which one I love the best,
I tear open my shirt and show a Rosie on my chest!

You've missed a couple of 'arounds' of the quo lyric.
Great tune. I had Bio Rhythms 2 on tape which had tracks which weren't on the vinyl release. Rhythim is Rhythim's Drama was one (why the hell did they leave that off the LP? It's amazing!) and another was an early Suburban Knight tune.

I've got a UK release 12" of this and this track is titled Info World. Not that this information is either a. conclusive or b. interesting, but I thought I'd share it anyway.

To be honest I'm pretty sure it is Infoworld really, but I played on the slight uncertainty just to get the Quo gag in…

...and talking about extra tracks on non-vinyl releases, I only found out a couple of years ago that the CD and some tape releases of LFO's Frequencies have two extra tracks on them that I'd never heard before.
