Noise Factory – The Fire
OK this tune serves at least three purposes here:
- It is a fantastic hardcore tune with huge full-on hoovers, chipmunked vocal samples from Fleetwood Mac and Loleatta Holloway, Amen breaks and some massive bass. What more do you need?
- It nicely illustrates the jump from ‘ardcore to jungle that I mentioned above. This tune came out earlier the same year as Breakage #4 but listen to the difference a few months makes. The Fire is great at what it does, but the intricate drum programming and rollin’ vibe of Breakage #4 mark it out as a step forward.
- It gives me the perfect opportunity to send my sympathies to any of our listeners affected by the fires in California. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for rain.
