Johnny Jungle – Flammable (DJ Hype Mix)
I played a few records at my mate Nick’s wedding the other weekend, and although I got the dancefloor jumpin’ in fine style I can’t help feeling I let him down a bit by completely bottling out of playing the jungle he’d requested and fell back on crowd-pleasing club classics instead. I fully intended to rinse it out jungle style but in the end didn’t have the heart… Nick’s mum was up and dancing, and his ferocious sister-in-law Nicole pretty much threatened to castrate me when I played something just a teeny bit hardcore. If I’d been stronger I wouldn’t have buckled under the pressure but I think where the previous 12 hours of drinking had weakened my resolve it had only made Nicole more fierce and in the end there was no contest.
This tune is one that Nick specifically requested that he wanted to hear and was by far the heaviest tune in the bag that evening. I wish I had had the balls to break it out for the wedding, but hindsight’s all well and good and all I can do now is dedicate to him & his lovely wife Simone here.
And what a fucking tune it is! Released on Suburban Base in 1993, words cannot describe what goes on here… by no means for the feint hearted, Hype takes a heavy heavy tune and chops it up in the craziest style possible. Just check it.

That happens to me all the time. It's hard to really push it when you are virtually threatened with death if you mess up the music! I generally find that women are much more hardcore about that than the guys :-)
