Eric B. & Rakim – Paid in Full (Seven Minutes of Music – The Coldcut Remix)

Following on from 8 Minutes Of Madness here we have Seven Minutes Of Music – the classic Coldcut remix of Eric B & Rakim’s Paid In Full from way back in 1987.

Coldcut released an instrumental version soon after called Not Paid Enough as they were only paid £750 for doing the remix despite it being a huge hit. The instrumental is great, but having just listened to both I couldn’t resist Rakim’s classic rap.

    ahead of our time logo brings back lots of memories of a time long ago, coldcut tunes and 303 loops. an album with the coolest catalogue number "AHOT14U". And then they turned into Yazz (and Lisa Stansfield). But ive got a soft spot for 'doctorin the house'. ahhh.
