Theo Parrish feat Alena Waters – Soul Control

It was tricky to choose which tune to post from the triple 12” ‘Sound Sculptures’ that was released last year. I guess I my choice was dictated by mood (or perhaps the weird version of a tune from Star Wars slipped in at the end). Had it been another day it might have been the minimal squidegtastic ‘Synthetic Flemm’, or the softer soulful ‘Second Chances’. My point being that there is not a weak track on this release. There’s a real diverse selection of tunes too, making it high on my 2007 chart.

The fact that this album was released as ‘Sound Sculptures Vol 1’ leads me to eagerly anticipate more future releases from Theo Parrish in the same vein. We can but hope.

    Seen this – the guy he's in the studio with is Omar S and it's Rick Wilhite whose store he's in with towards the end. That'd be a good place to go shopping…
