Santogold – “You’ll Find A Way” (Switch & Graeme Sinden Remix)
Everyone agrees: Santi White kicks ass.
Her band Santogold is Santi plus John Hill, and a loose knit collective of producers and likeminded types- including Diplo, Spank Rock, MIA, and Dave “Switch” Taylor (on the remix here)- who provide a channel for Santi’s considerable lyrical talents and energy.
Emerging very much kicking and screaming from the Philadelphia punk scene (whatever that is)- comparisons have been drawn with the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Karen O, which sound fair enough to me, and of course MIA...
She’s also supported Bjork, worked with Mark Ronson and has been continually and justifiably hyped on every blog ever since her first releases last year.
Except- so far- DC….
Have been meaning to rectify that for some time- felt I had to now as I thought I heard one of Santogold’s tracks being used to advertise some product or other at the moment, which is never a nice way to meet a promising young artiste….
So here you are, if you havent heard her before, meet Santogold.
The debut album I believe in Santogold is due out this year. I cant work out when, but I will be buying it when it drops… :)
