Edwin Starr – Get Up – Whirlpool
Pilooski put out an edit of this on the original 12” that featured Beggin’ that extended and ramped up the intro to this, but I think it’s a shame to miss out on all the funkiness of what follows with the rest of this song from 1980. Edwin Starr, who was based in Nottingham and remained a firm favourtie on the Northern Soul scene, died at the age of 61 in 2003.
