The Suburban Knight - The Art of Stalking

2006-05-16 by P. McDiddy

In 1990 I lived with my mum. James Pennington – aka – The Suburban Knight was stalking Predators. I think they’re still trying to hunt him down after he learnt to speak their secret language.

This is a thick slice of Dark Funk Cake, and really caught my attention when I first heard it in ‘93. None of the usual bleeps or squiggles, more like an jazz orchestra in a shoebox sound. Hard to mix, not only for the stuttering rhythm, the production is perfect in isolation, but the subtleties can be lost in a full on techno assault. Let your last track finish, turn down the lights and crank it up.

Remember to be afraid of the dark, you don’t know what’s out there, or what might be stalking you.
