The Undisputed Truth – Sandman

A lovely summer groove. The Undisputed Truth were made up of three persons who previously featured in various Motown acts and they released a string of albums throughout the 1970’s. I’d be lying if I were to say that I’ve heard loads of their stuff but I know that this was a B Side released in 1979. Its the opening track on Theo Parrish’s Methods of Movement mix (see link below), and there is also an edit type number of it on the mix that Moodymann did for Radio Nova many moons ago.

Thanx for the rare track, I think y'all should know or maybe mention that The Undisputed Truth were the brainchild of Norman Whitfield, the producer who produced some of the Temptations most Psychedelic era material. These are the Temps seminal late 60's/early 70's hits like Cloud 9, and Papa Was A Rolling Stone. The biggest Undisputed Truth is undoubtedly Smiling Faces, a true representation of the inimitable whitfield sound.

Wotcha Mr P. There's an edit of Sandman on the recently featured Moxie label- Moxie005. It's a corker. And there's another Undisputed Truth edit on that Disco Editions label which I'll post later today when I get round to it.
